We are very excited to announce that Afflecks is to become a dog friendly venue!
More and more people City living are now loving owners of dogs and Afflecks has recently taken the decision to welcome well behaved dogs with responsible owners through its doors. This will make Afflecks the first shopping centre in the UK to be a fully dog friendly shopping venue.
The decision fits in nicely as we prepare to welcome a new independent pet business, currently trading in Chorlton called Betty & Butch.
Betty & Butch were recently awarded Pet Retailer of the Year and will be the first dedicated dog shop in Manchester City Centre whereby dog owners can use it as a one stop shop to get food and accessories for their pooch.
Ratifly to the Moon has now arrived on the 2nd floor, everything available in store is hand-made with love, be sure to visit and say hello next time you are in Afflecks.
You will find beautiful vibrant items for the home as well as some clothing, accessories and gifts.

There’s a host of artists in residence at Afflecks, whether it be ink in your skin or abstract art for your walls, you will find it within Afflecks.
Andrew at Doodlebugs on the 3rd floor is a great doodle artist and also customises guitars, Pascal has The Little Lamb and creates abstract artwork and hand made masks and dolls. Simon at Not on your Skin engraves art on to glass, any image of your choice, his work is unique. The Pixel Bar offers customers artwork on bags using pixels.
On the 2nd floor we have Dirty Works specialising in Graffiti art and supplies Hayley also customises Doctor Martens boots again with any image of your choice. The Fox Fairy on the 2nd floor offers a collective of work from a number of local artists and creative’s. FRD Woodcrafts has a great range of handcrafted items, Frank and a number of artists hand carve all the products sold.
On the 1st floor you will find Messy Art who sketches portraits and offers face & body art, Saira at Waxworks is a fantastic Henna artist and The Studio offers some of Manchester’s best Tattoo artists.
Local artists regularly paint on to walls within Afflecks so there is always new art to discover when you visit.

Following on from the opening of Manchester’s first Cereal Cafe, Afflecks has now opened the first Pixel Shop.
Pixeling is set to be latest craze, Kids & Kids at Heart can create their favourite characters on to bags using Pixels, you can be creative and change the image whenever you want, have a different bag everyday!
Helena has opened the first shop ahead of the craze and as well as shoppers being able to buy the bags and Pixels, Helena will sell them with the image of their choice already put on to the bag!
Hamleys will be launching Pixel Bags in all of their shops across the Country at the end of this month but will not offer the unique service of ready made Pixel bags like Helena. Get in their first!
The Pixel Bar is now open on the 3rd Floor in Afflecks.
There are eateries on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Floor’s at Afflecks for shoppers to discover. Gingers Comfort Emporium offer the very best in Ice Cream, why not try a Baked Alaska or French Elvis, Gingers is best known for it’s ‘Chorlton Crack!’ Gingers also offer a great range of speciality teas and coffee’s.
On the 2nd Floor, you will find Black Milk Cereal Dive, a great place to meet and try a great range of cereals served with a twist! Flavoured milks and a great selection of home baked products are on offer, teas & coffees are also available, why not try a Coco Pops Latte!
The 3rd floor offers a more traditional style cafe, serving a range of hot and cold food with great views across Manchester.
Come and have a look, there is something to suit all taste-buds.
January was a sad month at Afflecks, we said goodbye to a couple of businesses that had been with us for some time, Me&Yu on the 3rd floor and MASHED Army Surplus on the 2nd – We wish Angela and Gordon from Me&Yu well on their exciting future journey in Sydney. We also wish Nick & Marina from MASHED the very best for their future ventures.
Two rather large units had left quite a space on both 2nd & 3rd floors, these spaces have created opportunities for fresh new talent and we are pleased to welcome a host of newbies that include Soapy J’s, Eye Candy Lingerie, FRD Wood Carvings, Black Milk Cereal Dive, The Little Lamb and The Jazzy Frog. We are also pleased to announce that Kuhl Vintage will be expanding in to a brand new space on the 2nd floor, other forthcoming expansions include Moloko, Purple Dragon & Remake Remodel.

Afflecks is very excited to announce that as from next week the famous Salford Lads Club T-shirts featuring The Smiths will be on sale from the Afflecks office from next week.
Afflecks has teamed up with Salford Lads Club to sell the T-shirts on their behalf.
The T-shirts will be on sale from Tuesday 17th February, you can get one from the Team Afflecks office situated on the 1st floor.

Afflecks is to play host to the official launch of Hate Crime week Monday 26th January – Sunday 1st February 2015.
The launch will see a number of VIP’s plus press and media contacts attending Afflecks on Monday.
Councillor Bernard Priest will open the launch and a number of guest speakers including Police & Crime commissioner Tony Lloyd, Sylvia Lancaster OBE, The Sophie Lancaster Foundation, Nazir Afzal OBE, Chief Crown Prosecutor.
Victims of Hate Crime including Sajay Sood-Smith from BBC’s The Apprentice will speak of their experience.
Closing remarks will come from Wasim Chaudhry – Divisional Commander at GMP.
Staff and stall holders have had their picture taken and will be part of a photo exhibition that will be displayed within Afflecks. Mark Kennedy has made a mosaic showing the Hate Crime logo and this will be on permanent display within Afflecks.
Afflecks is now a
third party reporting centre whereby staff are reporting officers having undergone training with GMP.
Victims of hate crime can report incidents at Afflecks in confidence and then we report directly to GMP using a secure database, this provides the police with intelligence regarding crimes that may have gone unreported for a number of reasons.
Kuhl Vintage were delighted
when they were recently approached by Coronation Street to supply clothing for some of the cast for the 80’s themed wedding of characters Beth & Kirk.
Kuhl Vintage supplied the outfits for characters Tim Metcalf & Sally Webster played by Joe Duttine & Sally Dynevor who were 80’s duo Dollar and the groom Kirk Sutherland played by Andrew Whyment.

Staff and customers were very excited when Lady Gaga turned up at Afflecks to shop, Lady Gaga was joined by her sister, some of her dancers and her pet dog and enjoyed a private shopping spree after Afflecks had closed to the public.
She made several purchases from Pop Boutique, No Angel, Abacus, Elysia, American Graffiti, Kuhl Vintage, Crystal Henge to name a few she even found time to stop and enjoy coffee & dessert at Gingers Emporium.
Lady Gaga left holding an Afflecks bag containing an Afflecks T-shirt & Mug whilst her entourage carried the mound of shopping bags behind her.
On leaving she took the time to speak with fans, sign autographs and pose for some photographs. A true professional & a very nice lady.
She said that she would be back!
From Sunday 26th October, Afflecks will be fully open, yep that’s right fully open! All floors will be open from now up until the end of 2014 giving you more time to shop in the run up to Christmas.
