It is one of the most famous pieces of art of all time – but now a mystery artist has given Michelangelo’s famous Sistine Chapel mural a Mancunian twist.
The famous painting, which shows the moment God reached out to Adam and created man, has been recreated – featuring some of Manchester music’s most revered icons.
God is replaced by Factory records mogul Tony Wilson, who is reaching out to Joy Division singer Ian Curtis. Wilson is flanked by Joy Division manager Rob Gretton and producer Martin Hannett.
The artwork has been created by a mystery artist who wishes to remain anonymous, he has been dubbed Manc-angelo by Afflecks stall holders.
Be sure to have a look at the art work on the ceiling of the 3rd floor cafe.
