This year we will be celebrating Afflecks Day on Saturday 30th April. Afflecks Day is a celebration of all things Afflecks! A fun day not to be missed!

This years theme is The Circus and we would like you to create a flyer to help promote the event.

Draw a picture, take a photograph……whatever you think would look good on the cover of a flyer to promote the ‘Circus themed’ Afflecks Day.

The winning entry will be used on our flyers and posters to promote the event and the winner will also receive £100 in Afflecks Gift Vouchers.

All entries must be submitted no later than Sunday 20th March.

Exposure recently started making sweatshirts with quotes on them, from various sources all over the World! They got in touch with Scroobius Pip and checked that it would be okay to use one of his quotes, he agreed and they have  been a massive hit!

Exposure sent him a freebie, but he had to go one better and came down to the shop where he very kindly modelled his jumper for us.

Exposure are currently in discussions with Scroobius management about producing more quote jumpers and making them official merchandise for the band!

Calling all budding playwriters.

The Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting is looking for great new plays and writers to enter their work and show us the World inside their head.

It’s the biggest national competition of its kind and since 2005 six of the winning plays have been produced at the Royal exchange Theatre and beyond. The winning writer will receive £16,000 with three runner up prizes of £8,000.

This year’s judging panel includes actors Sue Johnston (Royle Family, Brookside) and Maxine Peake (Shameless, Dinnerladies), Royal Exchange Artistic Director Sarah Frankcom and Bruntwood Chairman Mike Oglesby. Olivier Award winning playwright Simon Stephens is the chair of the judges.

This week see’s the opening of three fabulous & very unique boutiques, Sunday Best and Woodchip Boutique on the 3rd floor and Molly & Loela on the 1st floor have some fantastic clothing and accessories for you fashion concious women.

In 2006, as part of CowParade Manchester, artist Tracey Cartledge was commissioned to produce three can-canning cows for the Northern Quarter.

Afflecks rescued this one from potential slaughter and arranged for Tracey to lovingly restore it.

Living TV’s Britains Next Top Model will be street casting for series 7 on Friday 28th January.

Male Model and Britains Next Top Model judge Charley Speed will be in Afflecks on the lookout for potential models who will then be invited to attend the auditions.
