If you’ve been watching the hilarious Sky1 docu-soap Pineapple Dance Studios, you’ll already be well aquainted with Andrew Stone.

Viewers will remember the chaos that Andrew  frontman of electro-pop band Starman, caused when filming the video for new single ‘I don’t wanna dance’ , remember those smoke machines which set off every alarm in the building? poor Louie………he was not a happy bunny that day!

It was great to see Andrew shopping in Manchester’s best shopping destination where he made several purchases and kindly posed for us wearing some of the fashionable wears from Afflecks ‘celebrity favourite’ Me&Yu.

No Angel on the 1st floor was set up in 1995 by Amy Wainwright, a fashion graduate from Salford University. Over the year’s the business has grown and has become a showcase for new designers.

There is a huge selection of No Angel products including one off designs, so if your looking for an outfit that’s a little bit different then be sure to have a look in No Angel situated on the 1st Floor.

Our Cafe is currently getting a make-over and will re-open on Tuesday 27th April, be sure to come and have a brew and a look when we re-open.

Don’t forget, Mandy Moo’s on the first floor is a great place to meet up and enjoy a milkshake, soft drink or a coffee and a delicious cup cake supplied by the fabulous Cocoa Emporium.

I love Kokeshi has now expanded and moved to the 1st floor, come and have a look at the beautiful handmade and hand-painted Kokeshi Dolls from Japan.

I Love Kokeshi also has a range of antique Kimoni Silks, Kokeshi Art Prints and Cards.

NHS Manchester are undertaking a range of activities to support the local delivery element of the National Chlamydia screening programme.

The programme aims to offer 16 - 24 year olds the opportunity to be screened for Chlamydia.

On Saturday 17th April free and confidential screening will be offered to Afflecks visitors between the ages of 16 and 24, all those taking part will be given a voucher to the value of £3:50 which can be redeemed in Mandy Moo’s Milshake bar or The Cocoa Emporium.

‘Off the Cut’ now open on the 2nd floor offers a range of beautiful clothing and accessories that can be worn for any occasion.

Vanisha’s Design Boutique, also situated on the 2nd floor offers hand-made bespoke garments and accessories, each designed and made by local designers Vanisha Mistry and Molly Murray.

‘It Rocks’ situated on the 3rd floor sells a range of unique clothing with an edge.

Be the envy of all your friends by wearing something that’s different to the ‘mainstream’.

So Harriet, tell us about Sausage Dog……

Well, Sausage Dogs are just one of the many weird and fuzzy creations to be found in my shop! All my plushies have a personality to match. There are startled ducks, insane tooth gnashing monsters, monkeys with moustaches and rabbits with top hats! oh…. and not forgetting poor old Mr intestines with his removable innards!

They are all handmade by me in the shop, and if you can’t find one that pleases you then you are welcome to request your very own design or idea and I will make it for you!

Where does the name ‘Sausage Dog’ originate from?………

I just love Sausage Dogs, they’re so silly with their little legs! poor things, you know, they can’t even climb the stairs!

Definitely being able to sit all day making stuff, I never get bored of that. Its also great to be surrounded by creative, lovely people too!

It was great to see Pete shoppng in Afflecks on Bank Holiday Monday, Pete was in Manchester for his solo gig at Moho Live.

During an interview with the Manchester Evening News, Pete stated that he enjoyed his trip to Manchester and in particular enjoyed a frenetic shopping spree round the Northern Quater’s Indie emporium Afflecks.

“Oh it was great”, he beamed. “I needed some new jeans for my gig at Moho, I also bought some great original babysham glasses and an original babysham in a box!”

The Cocoa Emporium will be hosting a vegan tasting day on Saturday 10th April.

The Cocoa Emporium, creates chocolate and cakes by hand including a selection of vegan cakes for you to buy for either yourself or as a gift. We create our goodies each day and they can also be ordered for any special occasion that you wish to celebrate including Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings, New Arrivals etc.
