We are pleased to announce that Extreme Largeness & GRIN will be opening Sunday’s from Sunday 23rd May.

Extreme Largeness & GRIN, both situated on the ground floor will be open every Sunday from 11:00am until 5:00pm.

The wonderful Dawn from Tokyo Royale (pictured above) will be having a metre of hair chopped off in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The hair will then be made into wigs that will  be given to under privilaged children that are suffering from cancer.

Please help Dawn reach her target by making a donation for this very worthy cause.

Dawn will be having the chop, here in Afflecks on Thursday 3rd June.

The outside of Afflecks is being freshened up! 

Please do not be put off by the scaffolding that will surround us - for within our walls we will be continuing to do what we do best, with over 50 stalls offering you something different to the ‘mainstream’.

The work will be complete and ready for your viewing pleasure, by November 2010.

If you’ve been watching the hilarious Sky1 docu-soap Pineapple Dance Studios, you’ll already be well aquainted with Andrew Stone.

Viewers will remember the chaos that Andrew  frontman of electro-pop band Starman, caused when filming the video for new single ‘I don’t wanna dance’ , remember those smoke machines which set off every alarm in the building? poor Louie………he was not a happy bunny that day!

It was great to see Andrew shopping in Manchester’s best shopping destination where he made several purchases and kindly posed for us wearing some of the fashionable wears from Afflecks ‘celebrity favourite’ Me&Yu.

No Angel on the 1st floor was set up in 1995 by Amy Wainwright, a fashion graduate from Salford University. Over the year’s the business has grown and has become a showcase for new designers.

There is a huge selection of No Angel products including one off designs, so if your looking for an outfit that’s a little bit different then be sure to have a look in No Angel situated on the 1st Floor.

No Angel also have a fantastic boutique on Oldham Street and a shiny new web-site www.noangel.co.uk

Our Cafe is currently getting a make-over and will re-open on Tuesday 27th April, be sure to come and have a brew and a look when we re-open.

Don’t forget, Mandy Moo’s on the first floor is a great place to meet up and enjoy a milkshake, soft drink or a coffee and a delicious cup cake supplied by the fabulous Cocoa Emporium.

I love Kokeshi has now expanded and moved to the 1st floor, come and have a look at the beautiful handmade and hand-painted Kokeshi Dolls from Japan.

I Love Kokeshi also has a range of antique Kimoni Silks, Kokeshi Art Prints and Cards.

NHS Manchester are undertaking a range of activities to support the local delivery element of the National Chlamydia screening programme.

The programme aims to offer 16 - 24 year olds the opportunity to be screened for Chlamydia.

On Saturday 17th April free and confidential screening will be offered to Afflecks visitors between the ages of 16 and 24, all those taking part will be given a voucher to the value of £3:50 which can be redeemed in Mandy Moo’s Milshake bar or The Cocoa Emporium.
